PEST OF FIELD CROPS AND THEIR MANAGEMENT IN THE TROPICS

Agricultural and horticultural crops are susceptible to pest infestation right from sowing to maturity and post-harvest stages, owing to intensive cropping and improved cultural practices, thus leading to enormous economic and nutritional loss. The dearth of relevant textbooks on field pests prompted the author to write this book to avail practicing farmers, extension agents, agriculturists, and students of agriculture at various levels with basic information on major agricultural pests of field crops. The book contains a clear description of important pests of field crops, their host range, life cycle, nature of damage caused, and control measures, with more emphasis on non-chemical means of control.
