The book “Pest and Pest Control Concept” was conceptualized to broaden the knowledge of students, faculty member and pest management specialist in the area basic concept such as morphology, anatomy, physiology and control tactics with emphasis on Integrated Pest Management Strategies. The book is presented in such a way that it covers the various classes of pest such as insects, nematodes, vertebrate pest, pesticide formulation, pesticides handlings and safety precautions.  

Agricultural and horticultural crops are susceptible to pest infestation right from sowing to maturity and post-harvest stages, owing to intensive cropping and improved cultural practices, thus leading to enormous economic and nutritional loss. The dearth of relevant textbooks on field pests prompted the author to write this book to avail practicing farmers, extension agents, agriculturists, and students of agriculture at various levels with basic information on major agricultural pests of field crops.
